Our new design in our light pull fittings-Stainless steel.
Adding design and elegance to the home.
About our new fittings.
Our stainless steel light pull fittings are made from marine grade A4 stainless steel which provides high quality and durability. Most importantly we are proud that they are made in Britain and as a business want to support our other British manufacturers. We have designed our new fittings to allow for a thicker cord than previously.
We no longer have any of our previous types of fittings. Our online light pull fittings are now all made in Stainless Steel.
When purchasing our handmade glass light pulls we include step by step instructions with pictures of how to fit them. We do not supply the cord.
This is shown below and demonstrates how easy they are to fit to the end of either an existing pull cord or to a new cord.
It is important to follow the instructions below when fitting the light pull so that the cord is securely tied inside the cap so that the knot(s) are big enough to stay inside the cap and are not able to be pulled back through the hole. It is important to check this before screwing the cap on to the light pull. Our light pull fitting has been designed to allow for most types of pull cord. However, if you find your existing cord is too thick then you may prefer to get a small plastic cord joiner clip which is placed at the top of the cord and joins the old thick cord to the new cord.
Our beautiful designs in our light pull range will add that finishing touch to any room and can also be used as a fan pull or blind pull. The glass is sturdy as it is solid (unlike blown glass that is hollow where that could be fragile in a light pull). It is also hygienic and easy to clean. Our light pulls have been designed for use with a cord only and are not suitable to use with a chain.
Light pull fitting instructions for our stainless steel light pulls at Wight Island Glass
Step 1 Unscrew the cap.
Step 2 Cut the end of the cord that is to be inserted into the light pull, making sure there are no stray edges. Thread the cord through the cap and tie a knot in the cord, making sure that the knot is bigger than the hole in the top of the cap. Depending on the thickness of your cord it may mean that you will need to tie more than a single knot to ensure the knot(s) are unable to be pulled back through the hole in the top of the cap. This is very important.
Step 3 Trim off any excess cord making sure the knot is still very tight. If there is too much excess cord or the knot(s) have been tied with too much gap between them then the cap will not screw flush to the base. This is very important.
Step 4 Check before attaching the light pull to the cap that the knot is securely in place and is big enough to not be pulled back through the top in the cap. It is important to check this is securely in place before attaching the light pull.
Step 5 Screw the cap down onto the thread until it is flush, being careful not to cross thread.
Finally, stand back and admire your new light pull on display for all to see!
